Malaysia’s higher education system is of international standards, closely monitored by the Ministry of Higher Education, which has the vision to turn Malaysia into a Center of Excellence for Higher Education.

About Sarawak: Welcome to the Land of Natural Beauty!!

Welcome to the land of the hornbills! Sarawak is located on the island of Borneo, the third largest island in the world and north of the Equator. With its beautiful blue skies and tropical breezes you can bathe in the sandy beaches and palm-fringed state of Sarawak. Tropical showers cool the land with heavier rainfalls during the monsoon months from November to March. We hope you enjoy your stay in our vast wild home.

Borneo is the world's third largest island, with three recognized countries—Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei—claiming a hold on three separate parts of the island. It is also on the proud island of Borneo that you will be able to find one of the oldest rainforests in the world as well as several unique cultures that give a whole new meaning to diversity. Sarawak is popularly known as the 'Land of the Hornbills' and bears distinction as the largest state in Malaysia. It is in the state's capital of Kuching that you will embark on your journey of education.

Sarawak is home to more than 40 sub-ethnic groups, each with their own distinct language, culture and lifestyle. Besides the Malays and Chinese, you will also be able to find the Ibans, Bidayuhs, Melanaus and other native tribes of Sarawak. The locals practice a variety of religions, including Christianity, Islam, Chinese folk religion (a fusion of Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism and ancestor worship) and animism. Many converts to Christianity among the indigenous peoples continue to practice traditional celebrations. You can see why Gawai Dayak, the rice harvest festival celebrated by the Dayaks (Ibans and Bidayuhs), is as important an occasion as Hari Raya and Chinese New Year in this part of Malaysia.

The country relies heavily on tourism as a source of income, attracting scores of visitors from all parts of the world every year due to its unique sights and culture. Kuching is also host to the Rainforest Music Festival—an annual music festival that brings performers from all parts of the world to celebrate the diversity of "world music" The state is also the natural habitat for the endangered Orang Utan. Other unique wildlife includes the proboscis monkey, hornbill, rhinoceros, clouded leopard and pygmy elephant. It is rich in biodiversity and center of evolution of many rare species of plants and animals.

Living Expanse in Sarawak:

Although a city, living expenses in Kuching are lower than cities located in West Malaysia. This means that a student will get to enjoy reduced living expenses and tuition costs that are much cheaper compared to West Malaysia and other countries in the region, while at the same time graduating with an internationally-recongized degree or Diploma.
